Dear Editor,

We thank the readers for commenting on our article.[1] We do agree with the authors about permanent visual loss in patients transfused with platelets as reported by authors in a series of 5 cases.[2] Our patient was under the care of a physician before referral to the ophthalmology department. However, no such event was observed in our case.

In our case, supportive therapy with single donor platelet transfusion was done. Dengue is definitely associated with vitreous hemorrhage and preretinal hemorrhage.[3] We do not claim about the first report of dengue associated with retinal hemorrhage and macular edema. However, this patient had bleeding in the cerebral hemisphere associated with bilateral macular edema and retinal hemorrhages. Reference 3 cited by authors is a review article and 5 is the letter to the editor.

Posttreatment fundus and optical coherence tomography images were not available with us, therefore not included in the report.
