The original article titled "Etiology and management of epiphora in an underserved, minority population" published in The Pan-American Journal of Ophthalmology, on page 52, Issue 1, Volume 4, 2022,[1] is being retracted because it is a duplicate publication of an article titled "Etiology and management of epiphora in an underserved, minority population" published in International Journal of Research in Medical Sciences, 2022.[2] It was brought to the attention of the journal's editorial board, by the authors, that although they had initially asked for the publication in the International Journal of Ophthalmology and Clinical Research to be retracted, they were unaware that it had not been done at the time of publication in The Pan-American Journal of Ophthalmology. Thus, the author as well as the journal's editorial office decided to retract the article.
Plagiarism, fabrication, unethical or redundant publication violates the editorial policy of The Pan-American Journal of Ophthalmology, which follows best practice guidelines given by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) mentioned on the Information for Authors and as codified in the signed statements made by the authors regarding the copyright of their work.
This article has been retracted on request of the Authors and Editor-in-Chief of the journal.
